Kaitlyn & Cody's Story:

Ever since I was 3 years old, I knew I wanted to be a mom. So when I was diagnosed with PCOS at 15 years old I was devasted.

I hoped the doctors were wrong, but my diagnosis was confirmed by another doctor right before we got married. I knew that I wasn't ovulating regularly, so it might take a while to conceive.

When I stopped birth control, I didn't get a period for five months, so I went to see my OBGYN. He prescribed Clomid, and I did three rounds, not ovulating on any dose.

After a year of trying with no success and no ovulation, I went to a local fertility clinic (not CNY) where I was diagnosed with Hashimoto's Thyroiditis,  and started on thyroid medication.

I did two rounds of Letrozole with a trigger shot and timed intercourse. I ovulated but did not get pregnant, so I did two rounds of Follistim with a trigger shot and TI. But I still didn't get pregnant. I was getting frustrated.

I decided to try CNY and did a round of mini IVF with no success and no embryos frozen. I was so sad, but Dr. Kiltz had me start on LDN in preparation for another egg retrieval in a few months.

It came time to order medications for a second round, so I took a routine pregnancy test, expecting a negative as always. I was shocked to see two pink lines!

Cody didn't believe me. He thought the test was faulty, but after 27 months of trying, it was true! I gave birth to a healthy baby girl in June 2019.

Cody loved being a dad so much that he started begging for a second baby when she was just 2 months old.  When she was 18 months, I started back at my local fertility clinic, hoping to conceive with just Letrozole this time, since our first was conceived naturally. After 2 rounds of Letrozole with a trigger shot and TI, I wasn't pregnant and was dreading another long TTC process.

Then we went back to CNY, where I had another egg retrieval in March 2021. Dr. Corley wrote my protocol, and I monitored locally.

I had a great experience with Dr. Chang and the wonderful staff at the Buffalo clinic. I ended up with four frozen embryos and traveled back to Buffalo for a FET in May 2021.

I was thrilled to see two pink lines a few days later and had a healthy pregnancy. Our beautiful baby boy was born 2/2/22.

We are so grateful to CNY for our beautiful miracles!

Favorite Team Member at CNY:

Dr. Chang did an amazing job with my egg retrieval and transfer!

I was very anxious due to my previous IVF failure, but Dr. Chang and the Buffalo staff were so gentle and patient with me.

Helpful resources Kaitlyn & Cody found:

Facebook groups! I met real-life friends and still chat with ladies I have "met" in online IVF support groups. I couldn't have gone through all this without them!

Unique Moments:

Even though IVF failed the first time, I'm so happy I went to CNY.

They corrected my dose of thyroid medication and Metformin and placed me on LDN, which allowed me to get pregnant naturally the first time!

Hope, Inspiration and Advice:

It's important to keep an open mind! Even though I knew I'd likely have a difficult time conceiving, I was dead set against doing IVF. I'm glad I reevaluated and went through with it... twice! Totally worth it.

You can do hard things! Even if they are scary.
