Sammi & Adam's Story:

My husband and I started trying to conceive in 2018 after getting married in November. We did not anticipate any reason why we would not be able to get pregnant naturally and on the first try. However, after several months with no positive pregnancy test we decided to see our local OB to verify everything was normal.

With normal testing, except for some minor issues, we were told there was no reason why we couldn’t conceive naturally. So we continued trying naturally, attempted a few months of Letrozole, and still had no luck.

In 2022, we started the process for IUI. In February of 2022, we got pregnant during our second IUI attempt. We were beyond excited and so ready to start our future family. Unfortunately, the pregnancy was a blighted ovum, and we were absolutely devastated.

Moving forward, we attempted four more rounds of IUI, which were all unsuccessful. At this point, IVF was not an option for us in our home state because of the expenses.

Through several friends, we discovered CNY and thought, let’s just do the consult and see what happens. After the consult, we quickly jumped on board to begin IVF at CNY Colorado Springs.

CNY made the entire process seamless. We felt heard, cared for, and hopeful for the first time in years. We had our egg retrieval in February of 2023 and transferred at the end of the month. We got our second positive pregnancy test, which ultimately ended in our second blighted ovum.

Once again we were heartbroken, but knew God had a plan. In June of 2023 we had our second transfer and conceived our baby boy!

McCoy was born March 7, 2024, at 3:42 p.m. via cesarean section. He is absolute perfection and the answer to all of our prayers.

We want to thank Dr. Fink and all CNY staff in Colorado. We will be forever grateful for all your care and help in the arrival of our sweet baby boy.

Favorite Team Member at CNY:

Dr. Fink was amazing and made us feel so comfortable and cared for. The nursing staff was also incredible and easy to communicate with.

Helpful resources Sammi & Adam found:

For us having an incredible support system with Christ at the foundation was most helpful. God carried us the entire way.

The Moment:

We cannot fully describe how wonderful it was the first moment we met our sweet baby boy. Our baby McCoy was born via cesarean section after a failed forceps delivery.

The second he was laid on my chest my heart exploded with joy, love, and an overwhelming amount of gratitude to God. We watched God answer all our prayers that day and will forever be grateful.

Hope, Inspiration and Advice:

Don’t give up. Infertility is hard, lonely, overwhelming, and so much more. The journey is worth it when that baby is in your arms. Feel what you need to feel and take it one day at a time.
