Shana & Mike's Story:
My husband and I got married in October 2020 and knew right away we wanted to start trying to have a family. I had just gotten off birth control and realized my cycles were very irregular, sometimes going as long as 3 months without a period. After a year of TTC, I consulted my OBGYN and had fertility testing done on myself. All bloodwork came back normal, but my AMH was very high, indicating I most likely have PCOS, which can make it difficult to conceive. She prescribed me Letrozole, which I took for a few cycles, and never had any luck, but we hoped we would fall pregnant soon. Fast forward four years, and we still had not gotten pregnant. My husband had a semen analysis done, and it was determined based on his numbers that our best option to conceive would be IVF. We were devastated, to say the least, and thought we would never get the chance to become parents. I then discovered CNY Fertility, and we began to have hope again that we could make it happen and be able to move forward pursuing IVF, since the cost was actually something we could make work, compared to other clinics. We had our consultation and began treatment when my next cycle began. We went to CNY Buffalo for every appointment, and I could not recommend them more. Dr Chang was amazing to work with, along with all the nursing staff. Everything went smoothly with my egg retrieval and the following month we had my embryo transfer. The transfer was successful, and I was finally able to see those two pink lines. We were overjoyed and had an amazing pregnancy. We felt so blessed. We welcomed our son Samuel Orion on February 25, 2025. We couldn’t have done this without CNY Fertility. They gave us hope when we were hopeless and made our dreams come true. Dr Chang was amazing with the egg retrieval and embryo transfer and all of the nursing staff were so kind and happy for us every step of the way. I loved the Buffalo office and how they truly were invested in my success and made it all happen!

I watched a lot of Tik Tok videos of people going through the IVF process while we were also going through it and it gave me so much hope and made me feel not alone. Infertility can feel so isolating so having people on social media that you can relate to helps so much when you’re going through something like this.
The Moment:
The moment I held my son for the first time I knew everything was worth it. All of the years yearning for a child. The multiples tests, injections, scans, trips to the clinic for monitoring. It was all worth it when I held him in my arms and felt a love I never knew could exist. He is my everything and so much more.
Hope, Inspiration and Advice:
My advice for those still on their TTC journey is don’t give up. We spent four long years trying to get pregnant and went through multiple testing and bloodwork before realizing that we had a less than 1% chance of conceiving without IVF. Once we accepted our reality, we found CNY and from there everything seemed to go so fast. We got pregnant a few months after our consult with CNY and we are so thankful to them for making the process so easy to follow. We truly felt blessed through every step of the process with them.
