Cassandra & Lee's Story:

When Lee and I met, I had an 18-month-old son. And seeing Lee with him, I just knew we needed to have a child.

After about a year and a half of trying, we went to our local fertility clinic and had testing done. We were diagnosed with ovarian dysfunction as well as male factor.

We were told IVF was probably our only option. We got a quote from the local clinic, and it was $25k. We couldn't afford that. We decided to try three rounds of IUI as it was cheaper, or so we thought. After all three rounds failed, we had just about given up hope.

I saw a stranger on my TikTok talking about CNY, and I scheduled a consultation that dayOnce we had our consultation, it was full speed ahead, and we started stimulation medications that very next cycle.

We monitored locally and flew out for our final monitoring appointment. Everything looked good, and we went in for egg retrieval on a Saturday, which was very successful.

We had decided we wanted to do a fresh transfer if possible. My husband and 4-year-old at the time flew home, and I stayed to do my transfer the following Tuesday. Transfer day came, and my sister went with me. We transferred two embryos and ended up with an absolutely perfect baby girl that we could not imagine our life without!

We still have 10 embryos frozen, so we are trying to decide if our family is complete or if we should add one more. This journey has truly been hard, but so so worth it.

Favorite Team Member at CNY:

Nurse Brandis was amazing. I will forever be grateful. She gave us something we never thought we would have.

The Moment:

I was impatient and tested starting 4 days after transfer. It was the morning of 9 days after transfer, and I got the line that did not require me to squint and hope it was there.

I ran and told my husband with happy tears in my eyes. We were finally going to give my son a sibling. Fast forward to January of 2025 when we officially welcomed our little girl. Seeing my husband hold her still to this day melts my heart because he never thought he would have kids of his own.

Hope, Inspiration and Advice:

My advice would be, "Do not over think it." For so long IVF sounded scary to me. I let that fear hold me back from doing it right away. It is no cake walk but when you want to add to your family it is so worth it. Every single shot even, progesterone in oil (PIO) was 100% worth it and I would do it again.
