Virginia & Christopher's Story:

We had six miscarriages between 2012 and 2021. We did two rounds of IVF and the last frozen embryo transfer failed even though we had decent egg retrieval and sperm statistics.

We discovered that I had autoimmune issues related to inflammation markers and Anti-phospholipid Syndrome.  Then in 2021, Dr. Kiltz prescribed an immunological protocol, and it worked! I genuinely feel that some of the prescriptions were able to suppress my immune system long enough to carry out the healthy pregnancy to full term.

Favorite Team Member at CNY:

Big thank you to all of the staff including the answering service and secretaries as well as the nursing staff that fielded many questions verbally and over email and messaging systems. Thank you to Dr. Kiltz for explaining your philosophy and giving us access to that immune protocol.

Helpful resources Virginia & Christopher found:

Prior to the pregnancy that was successful, I found journaling, support groups, Zoloft, self help books about overcoming disappointments, and church helpful.

The Moment:

The first ultrasound at nine weeks showed a healthy baby that was in utero and I was in disbelief. I literally did not believe the ultrasound tech and she had to explain this is the part where you can be happy.

I was overjoyed. At the 12 week ultrasound and testing we found that he was supremely healthy and I was definitely pregnant. This is why I think the immune protocol worked, and my body didn't sabotage the pregnancy prior to the 12 week mark.

And then when he arrived after weeks of monitoring, I was feeling blessed and immense gratitude, which we both still feel.

Hope, Inspiration and Advice:

Keep going and pursue your dreams of having a baby. If you keep going, it can work out. Luca was our lucky baby number 7. Some people have 10 or more miscarriages. And there are other ways to have a baby rather than with your own genes and conception.
