Terrance & Ayanna's Story:

It was April 26, 2019, and my wife and I were so excited to say our vows, but we were even more excited to start a family.

In April 2020, we began trying to conceive, and you can imagine our excitement at the prospect of becoming parents to a beautiful child. Month after month, we tried with no luck. Those months turned into a year, and that year turned into two.

We were discouraged, devastated, and disheartened. We sought help and information on why conceiving, which we thought should be easy, had become so difficult.

We were not familiar with the word infertility until we met with my urologist and her OB/GYN in 2021. After three years of trying, we were finally able to put a name to our situation: unexplained infertility/male factor infertility.

My urologist suggested we do IVF. Although discouraged, we were grateful that there was still hope. However, when we looked into IVF, we discovered that the cost was greater than our ability to pay.

We were told it would be almost $20,000 to get started. Discouragement set in again. It felt like our prayers were hitting the ceiling, and a weighted ball had been placed on my heart, crushing it into pieces.

We applied for an IVF grant multiple times but were continuously denied. Although extremely discouraged and feeling lost, we held onto the only thing we had: our faith in Christ. We continued to search, believing there was a light at the end of our tunnel.

That's when I discovered CNY and their affordable prices. I called and was immediately scheduled for a consultation. After the consultation, it felt like a breath of fresh air and the rising of the sun in a cold place. It was a prayer answered.

My wife started her treatment, and by the grace of God and the amazing team at CNY, she became pregnant on her first cycle and is due September 3rd of this year.

After 4 1/2 years of trying, there were many tears, heartaches, doubts, and fears. But we built immeasurable character, perseverance, strength, faith, and humility.

August 29, 2025: Our baby boy, Gabriel, was born weighing 7 lbs. 4 oz. If you are reading this and struggling with infertility, I encourage you not to give up and to keep the faith. The sun does shine at the end of the tunnel. Press on, keep your head to the sky, and your chest to the wind.

We found help from being in the CNY FERTILITY group. It is where we got most of our information. And also surrounding ourselves with people who understand our journey, and who will pray for us and encourage us.

The Moment:

We cannot put into words the joy that we felt when realizing we were pregnant. It was like a boulder had lifted off of our chests and we were finally able to breathe. We felt that a long prayer has finally been answered.
