Morgan & Tyler's Story:

Allow me to introduce you to my family. My name is Morgan Cornell (31) and my husband’s name is Tyler Cornell (30) We are blessed with a remarkable 4-year-old son named Rory and his brand new baby sister named Marlowe (born on 12/12/2025) who bring so much light and love into our world.

The backstory on how our journey started is as follows.

From an early age (about 12 months) we took notice of some developmental delays with our son. He is non-verbal and functions at a lower capacity than children his age.

After jumping through hoops and hurdles with countless Drs. We officially got the diagnosis that Rory has Autism and a Global Delay. (May of 2023)

We were then referred to a Genetic Counselor for gene testing to see if there was an underlying cause for Rory’s condition. (January 2024)
Unfortunately, testing came back positive for a genetic chromosome disorder labeled as NRNX1 mutation

Our Counselor then encouraged us both to be tested to see if it was an inherited condition…Our results recently came back, and the verdict was in. My husband is a carrier of the chromosomal disorder.

We had a 50/50 chance of having another child with possibly more severe symptoms, including Epilepsy, severe mental disabilities, Autism, ADHD, Hypotonia, speech and language difficulties, mood disorders, and schizophrenia

Having this information in our hands and seeing how it has affected our son. We, in our hearts, couldn’t have another child naturally, not knowing what their future and fate might entail.

We could see that our son was lonely at times, and we wished more than anything that we could provide him with a sibling.

With that all being said, we decided to move forward and pursue IVF with PGT-A genetic testing as our route of conception. Going about it that way allowed specialists to figure out which embryos were affected with the same mutation, plus other genetic issues.

We looked at a few fertility clinics close by, but we couldn’t afford the price they were asking for. My son's occupational therapist mentioned CNY Fertility to us, and from there, our IVF journey began!

From start time (September 2024), which included our initial consult, additional testing, holiday breaks in between, and medication and monitoring, to (January 2025), traveling from Indiana to New York for my egg retrieval and waiting for the results.

5 embryos made it, with only 2 being unaffected by the gene or other chromosomal issues. Also, both are grade 6AA, which is the best they can be.
A girl and a boy.

Halfway there (April 2025), we traveled once again after multiple monitoring appointments and transferred our 6AA girl embryo, hoping she would join our family.

To the finish line (May 2025), getting the call that our embryo had stuck and we were officially “pregnant”!

We were ever so lucky that we only had to do 1 cycle and plan on transferring our boy embryo as soon as we are allowed to complete the final missing piece of our family.

Favorite Team Member at CNY:

The whole staff at the Syracuse location were amazing both times we made a trip up there!

The excitement and care they share right along with you just shines through.

So thankful for all of them!

Helpful resources Morgan & Tyler found:

I joined multiple Facebook groups involving IVF in my local area that also used CNY.

It was so helpful because if I had any questions or about where I should go for local monitoring appointments the girls knew and were eager to help.

Now that I’ve been through it I respond when I can when new ladies starting their journey join the page.

The Moment:

The moment I found out I was “officially” expecting I was overwhelmed with emotions.
Pure bliss, excitement, nerves, and thankful beyond all else.

Holding Marlowe in my arms for the first time was a surreal moment that I’ll never forget. Seeing her and actually holding her in my arms after everything our family had been through. It was all worth it in that moment. All of the stress and worry over the past year and a half didn’t matter anymore.

Hope, Inspiration and Advice:

Take it all day by day, one step at a time. Breathe in, breathe out.

It can be very overwhelming at times. But don’t let it consume you. I kept myself busy with my son and stayed steady with a positive outlook on life as best as I could.
