Katelyn & Alex's Story:

I've struggled with PCOS since 2010, when I was diagnosed at the age of 18. I was told I most likely would never have children.

My husband and I started dating in 2018 and got married in 2019. We wanted a family, but COVID ended up putting a damper on things. In 2021, we finally decided to start trying. We weren't having any luck, so I consulted with my primary care physician. We tried tracking my cycles, different types of medication such as Metformin and Clomid, and we tried timed intercourse. Still, nothing was working.

After about a year, my doctor referred me to an OBGYN for an exploratory surgery. When I was seen for my initial consultation, the OB said she didn't have any openings on her schedule in the OR for about 9 months. I told her I did not want to wait that long for an exploratory surgery, so she suggested I try IVF.

We reached out to CNY Fertility in 2022 for our consultation. We were so excited to start our IVF journey! We had planned for a 2023 egg retrieval. Right before our egg retrieval, we unexpectedly ended up taking in three foster children, so we had to put IVF on hold.

Finally, in 2024, we were ready to get the ball rolling! My husband and I traveled from Maine to CNY Florida to have our egg retrieval and fresh embryo transfer done in August 2024.

Unfortunately, our fresh embryo transfer failed. We took a few months to grieve and heal. In November 2024, we traveled back to Florida and had a frozen embryo transfer done. We did two embryos with hopes that at least one would implant. To our surprise, BOTH embryos implanted, and we ended up with di/di twin girls!!

Our beautiful girls were born at 37 weeks of gestation, on July 11, 2025. Adeline Sylvia was 5lbs 6oz and 18.5 inches. Alizah Ann was 6lbs 7oz and 19 inches. We are so over the moon in love with our girls. We can't thank CNY enough for helping us complete our family!

The Moment:

The moment I found out I was pregnant, I was ecstatic! We had been trying for so many years to complete our family. I almost was in disbelief at first, so I did several pregnancy tests to sure I was actually pregnant.
