Lauren & Nichole's Story:

We started treatment with IUI at another fertility clinic local to Tampa in March of 2022. I did have a hysteroscopy to remove a small polyp and fibroid.

We did 5 IUIs, one resulted in a chemical pregnancy, and all others failed.

We switched to CNY in March of 2023. We started with monitoring in Sarasota and flew to CNY Albany for retrieval and transfer.

We did two retrievals, resulting in 6 day 3 embryos (3 each time), and two transfers in Albany (1 with one embryo and the second with two, both failed).

CNY Sarasota opened up full service, and we shipped our remaining 3-day 3 embryos down to Sarasota. I did 3 months of Lupron depot suppression and did 3 consecutive transfers of those day 3 embryos, all failed.

We took a short break and switched sperm donors. We did our 3rd retrieval in June 2024 and got 3 day 5 embryos, 2 transfers failed, and 1 transfer resulted in a blighted ovum. Did a 4th retrieval in February 2025, resulting in 2 days, 5 embryos, we PGT tested, resulting in one euploid and one high-level mosaic.

During my retrieval, I did a hysteroscopy with Dr. Kondrup and removed a small fibroid/polyp and did a biopsy to check for endometritis.

We did a 30-day antibiotic and antiviral protocol. Started my next transfer cycle on May 15th and pulled out all the stops, transferred our beautiful euploid embryo on June 2nd, 2025, lucky transfer number 9.

Favorite Team Member at CNY:

Jessica Wood was my biggest support and listened to me and helped me figure out how to make it work. She would talk me through all my thoughts and research and helped me get to where I am at today. I also grew really close to all the nurses and assistants through my journey. Megan before she went back to New York, and Nicole before she left as well. T always was the best at drawing my blood and honestly treated me more like a friend and less of a number. I had a long journey and out-stayed a lot of the staff but I always loved and appreciated all their support.

Helpful resources Lauren & Nichole found:

My most helpful part of my journey was to find a friend in a similar situation and vent. I actually made a really good friend through CNYs Facebook page when I first started with CNY and she has been my biggest support and biggest cheerleader. CNY not only gave me my miracle baby, but also a really close great friend.

The Moment:

We transferred on June 2nd and on June 6th. Four days past our embryo transfer at 5:30 pm I decided to take a lot of pregnancy tests as one does after so many tries just to see. In my head I wanted a baseline negative test to start my serial testing. My 5 minute timer went off and my wife and I went to the bathroom to check the tests. We flipped over the digital test first expecting it to be negative and were SHOCKED to see the word pregnant!

We spent the next 4 hours crying happy tears. We were in disbelief, after such a long journey. February 13th, we welcomed our sweet little girl and it was beyond anything I could have imagined.

Hope, Inspiration and Advice:

It’s not always a long journey for everyone, but if it is you just have to hold out hope. I had a terrible struggle over 3 years of TTC and never gave up.

I wish I could tell anyone how to get through it and I don’t have any idea how I did it. Deep down I knew I couldn’t give up until I had that sweet baby in my arms. Having a huge support system was my best gift and being open and honest about my struggles to anyone who would listen.
