Words of Support and Encouragement: Speaking with a Counselor

Good morning!  I hope that you had a great weekend.  I have mentioned the benefits of speaking with a counselor in the past, and I’d like to revisit the benefits of consistent counseling while trying to conceive.  Facing the challenges of infertility can sometimes feel isolating.  Even within your own home, you may feel as though you are more concerned with your family’s infertility than your partner.  Our own thoughts and concerns are valid, but we may not always feel comfortable sharing them – even with our most trusted loved ones.  Having a counselor available is a wonderful release for all of those thoughts and concerns that we may not be ready to share with those we love.
Additionally, a counselor can help you with many coping tools for especially challenging times.  These may range from ways to convey your thoughts and concerns clearly, to coping mechanisms for acute moments of stress and anxiety.  The benefits of counseling are wonderful, and I highly recommend that all of our clients seek the support of a licensed professional.  If you think that you may be interested in a counselor, we have a list of local counselors for you:  http://www.cnyhealingarts.com/support/supportcounselors/
If you are in the Syracuse area, Meg Sullivan, LMSW will be joining our Circle of Hope support group session tomorrow: Tuesday, August 14th from 7:15p-8:30p.  This session is free, and will be held in the CNY Fertility kitchen area.  You can access this area via the CNY Healing Arts entrance, and a hostess will direct you.
I hope that you are able to join this great session, and find the important support that you need.
Have a great week,
