Words of Support and Encouragement Week of October 22, 2012

Good morning!  I hope that you had a great weekend.  During last week’s PCOS Support Webinar, I focused on being extra kind to yourself when it comes to coping with the many side effects of PCOS.  In addition to infertility, many women with PCOS also have to deal with weight maintenance, acne, and excess hair growth.  If you begin to feel frustrated with yourself about these physical symptoms, please remember that a lot of this is out of your control.  Although many of these symptoms will improve when your PCOS is better controlled with medication and lifestyle changes, they may never disappear completely.  Your body is in constant motion to work against this syndrome, and so weight loss and skin appearance happen very differently in a body with PCOS.
Be kind with yourself when you start to get critical about your weight, acne, or hair growth.  These are great challenges for women with PCOS, and improvements often happen slowly over time.  Your body is unique, and responds differently to treatments and changes in lifestyle.  If you would like more help with managing your PCOS and side effects, please feel free to come on in to CNY Fertility and CNY Healing Arts.  We are able to address medication, diet, exercise, skin maintenance, and emotional support all under one roof.
The PCOS journey is not always easy, but here, you are ever walking alone.
