Good morning! I hope you had a nice and relaxing weekend. If not, I recently stumbled upon a great article from Yoga Journal that may help! In this article, Rachel Brahinsky walks us through a very simple and efficient pranayama (breathing exercise). This exercise focuses on creating a calm and patient humming sound as we exhale, releasing stress and anxiety.
To practice, find a comfortable and quiet position. Close your eyes, and breathe deeply. Inhale completely, through the nose. As you exhale through the nose, lightly close your lips and make the ‘M’ sound, humming like a bee. Hold this humming as long as it feels good, and then release with another inhale.
This can be done for as long and as often as you need.
