Stephanie & Eljoree's Story:

Ever since I lost my sister back in 2007, I have always wanted to start my own family, whenever I found the right person. At the time, I was 19 years old with no other siblings, so it was so important for me to start a family, but the biggest issue was that I am a lesbian. When I did my research, it was beyond expensive.

I met my wife in 2016; she already had a beautiful 6-year-old daughter. I fell in love with both of them. I wanted a little mini me running around, but I did not want to be pregnant. My wife agreed to carry our baby. My wife and I got married in 2022 and started looking for an IVF clinic.

We went to one, and the pricing of everything was so crazy, but we didn’t know any better, so we went with them. After spending so much money and getting blank embryos, I knew this clinic was not for the clients but for the money. My wife, one day, was watching people's stories on Instagram, and CNY was advertising.

My wife got so excited and shared info about CNY. We had a consultation and got bad news. I was told I was not fertile, but they told me there is good news, we can fix that.

CNY gave me a bunch of vitamins and medications to get me on the right path. After three months of preparing my body, CNY sent us all the medicine we needed to start our journey. In March 2022, retrieval day, the doctors retrieved seven eggs that matured into three embryos.

Doctors suggested freezing them at day 3. On April 7, 2022, the day before my birthday, we flew to CNY Albany and transferred embryos into my wife. Waiting for results, we got the bad news that it didn’t stick. So we tried again in May 2022 to get more bad news. My wife was devastated. She was diagnosed with Lupus and was blaming herself for not getting pregnant. I told my wife, let’s take a break for our mental and physical health. We also got a second opinion from Dr. Fink and tried natural transfer. On January 2024 we transferred our last embryo.

The Moment:

On February 27 2024, on my sister's birthday, we got the great news we were pregnant! My wife did not want us to know the gender until birth. We cried and I hugged my wife and thanked her for everything. We had a few scares but On October 14, 2024, the day after my mother's birthday, we welcomed our beautiful daughter, Kalani Crystal Cargua.

Hope, Inspiration and Advice:

Never give up! It’s ok to get a second opinion. Everything happens for a reason.
