My husband and I have been together for quite a while—10 years to be exact. We started dating when I was 19 years old and he was 32. I immediately knew he was the one. After just one month of dating, I found out I was pregnant with our son, Jonathan, who is now 9 years old. We were overjoyed, even though our relationship was new and I was so young. I was ready to be a mom. Nine months later, we had a beautiful baby boy in our arms, and life went on.

When our son turned one, we started trying for our second child. I never thought much about it, assuming I would get pregnant right away. I had no reason to think otherwise. Fertility issues were something that happened to other people, not me. But as months—and then years—passed without success, my frustration began to grow. Family and friends would say the typical things: “Just relax,” “It’ll happen when you stop trying,” or “You’re still young.” But the years went on, and nothing changed.

By 2017, after nearly seven years of disappointment, I finally saw a fertility specialist. After several tests, I was diagnosed with blocked fallopian tubes and told that IVF would be my best option. In Florida, IVF can cost $20,000–$30,000, which was far beyond our budget. I was devastated.

After doing extensive research, I came across CNY Fertility. I had my consultation in 2018, immediately started my cycle, and was overjoyed when I became pregnant after my very first fresh transfer—with twins! We were ecstatic. We had set up the nursery and were over the moon. But at 19 weeks, what I thought would be a happy appointment turned into my worst nightmare—one of the babies had no heartbeat. I was crushed. That same day, I went into preterm labor and lost both babies. I was devastated and fell into deep grief.

My husband encouraged me to keep faith, and after months of prayer and healing, we decided to try again. Three months later, I became pregnant again from another transfer. But at our 8-week appointment, there was no heartbeat. Once again, I was broken and ready to give up.

One night, as I sat crying, I felt a quiet voice inside me say, “Don’t give up. Get up and keep trying.” So we did. Three months later, in April 2019, we returned for another transfer. I became pregnant again, but this time I was terrified. Every appointment filled me with anxiety, and I prayed harder than ever before.

All of that fear and faith led to the greatest gift of our lives—our beautiful baby boy, Nick Alejandro Aparicio, born on December 21, 2019.

God put us through a rocky road to bring us to this beautiful destination. After all the tears, losses, and heartbreak, we finally received our miracle—our rainbow. We couldn’t be happier or more grateful for our two boys. Everything truly happens for a reason.
