FAQ - Semen Analysis
Yes. You are welcome to obtain a sterile specimen cup from a local pharmacy (ask the pharmacist for a sterile specimen/urine cup) and collect it at home or a local hotel and bring it to one of our offices. YOU MUST HAVE AN APPOINTMENT to drop off the sample.
The sample has to be collected with NO vaginal or oral secretions and cannot be collected with lubricant.
Keep the cup at body temperature (in between your legs) while you are driving to our office. The sample MUST arrive at the lab WITHIN ONE HOUR after collection.
Make sure his name, his date of birth, your name, and the date and time of collection are on the cup.
A semen analysis tests looks for:
- The number of sperm (sperm count)
- The shape of the sperm (morphology)
- The movement of the sperm (motility)
Beginning of dialog window. Escape will cancel and close the window.
