According to the Society for Assisted Reproductive Technologies (SART), the agency that collects and publishes success statistics from all fertility clinics:
“A comparison of clinic success rates may not be meaningful because patient medical characteristics, treatment approaches, and entry criteria for ART may vary from clinic to clinic.”
In essence, a clinic’s treatment policies make it difficult to compare success rates from different fertility clinics. Many fertility clinics, for instance, have strict guidelines and restrictions that prevent certain individuals (those of certain ages, BMI, ovarian reserve, FSH levels, number of failed cycle, etc) from receiving certain treatments or treatment altogether and in so doing can artificially inflating success rates.
At CNY, we believe true success is only found in giving every hopeful parent to be access to the treatment they need. At CNY we have no restrictions, no cut-offs, and no blocks to anyone seeking treatment. Simply put, if you want to be a parent (even if your “odds,” of successful treatment are small) we are here to help you achieve your dream. As long as you are educated on the statistical likelihood of your treatment resulting in a healthy pregnancy and live birth, we want to give YOU a chance. But remember, statistics are based on populations – YOU are an INDIVIDUAL and so every case should be discussed with one of our providers.
We are proud of this fact, that our doors are open to all, perhaps more than anything else about CNY. It does however substantially change our client population and likely our success rates. Despite this, we proudly have success rates in line with national averages. Please, take a look here at SART. Rates for Pre 2001 can be found at the CDC: Center for Disease Control’s website.
