Best Christmas gift ever

In July of 2008, we found out the my husband had CBAVD. This meant that having children normally wasn't possible. So IVF was our only hope. We started our cycle on November 11th in the CNY Fertility Center Latham office. I started out on 10 units of Lupron for about two weeks. Then I went for a visit to get Follitism. I started Follitism 150 units on the 24th and by Friday I was feeling bloated and tired. I had my first Ultrasound on Friday the 28th and everything looked perfect! I had to go back for my second and third ultrasound on Monday the 1st and Wednesday the 3rd. I was told that I would be going to Syracuse for Egg Retrieval on December 5th. This day was very special to me because 14 years ago, my mother passed away of brain cancer, so knowing that my child(ren) could be conceived on the exact day was special and also a good sign. My husband had to have a PESA performed and they retrieved sperm right away, which was a relief to me! I was then called in for the Egg Retrieval and the last thing I remember was going to sleep. Everything went perfect. They retrieved 13 eggs. Yahoo!! I was excited! I got a phone call the next morning and was told that 10 out of the 13 were able to be fertilized and 7 of them turned into beautiful embryos! That made my day!! So we were told a 5 day transfer was the best option. So Wednesday the 10th we went back to Syracuse for Egg Transfer. We transferred 2 blastocyts back and I was sent on my way. Then the week and a half wait was approaching. This was the longest 10 days in my life. My husband and I went to CNY Fertility in Latham on December 19th for our Pregnancy Test. I was a nervous wreck! We got a call at 11:02 saying that we are definitely Pregnant!!!!! I was stoked!!! This is the best Christmas present anyone could ever receive. Dr. Kiltz and his staff were wonderful and the staff at Latham are great! I really wish I could stay there through the whole pregnancy. They make you feel welcome and loved. I just want to thank everyone for making our last 6 weeks quick and painless! It was a great experience! I can't wait to incorporate all of the ultrasound pictures of the follicles and embryos into the baby(s) album. You have truly made our dreams of having a family possible, and a simple thank you will never do you justice. Thank you again. Happy Holidays!!!!!! Rachael
