Words of Support and Encouragement Week of October 17, 2011

Good morning!  I hope that you had a great weekend.  Throughout your journey to parenthood, there will be a few challenging decisions to make.  You may have to decide which protocol is right for you, how many embryos to transfer, or how many cycles you should complete until it is time to move on to the next step.  Tackling these questions can be especially challenging if you don’t feel like you have all the information necessary to make a properly informed decision.  Before your next appointment, I’d like you to consider three unanswered questions that you have about your cycle.  Write them down, and bring them with you.  During your appointment, pull out your list and make sure that you understand the answers that you are given.  Before your following appointment, repeat the activity, and assess your comfort with the information that you have received.  It is important for you to feel comfortable with your cycle, and you have to be your own advocate when it comes to asking questions.  There may be something that we think you have a good grasp of, but you may feel completely lost.  That is OK, we just need you to let us know when we can explain something further!
The more information you have during your cycle, the more confident you will feel.  Remember to bring your questions, and always ask us to clarify is something isn’t clear.
Have a great week!
