Words of Support and Encouragement Week of December 13, 2010

If you are close to Upstate New York, you have most likely been spending a lot of time indoors with family.  As the snow piles up and we make our way through the winter holidays, this is a great time to explore some of the quiet hopes and promises you have for the child you are trying to conceive.
Sometimes, avoiding family and friends during the holidays while trying to conceive feels like it would be the safest approach.  However, you may find that avoiding the holiday altogether will leave you feeling isolated and down.  Instead of withdrawing, this may be a great opportunity for you to nurture your desire for a child, and all of the dreams you have for your expanding family.  Rather than avoiding family members and their children, take the time to immerse yourself in the holiday and their unique traditions.  Allow their energy to excite you, and spark new dreams and plans for the child you are working towards.  Look at these moments as an opportunity to acquire new traditions, and motivation to begin a healthy and strong new year.
Many of our clients find the holidays to be a challenging time, and we understand that you may need some extra support.  Our Circle of Hope support groups, online webinars, and support handouts are all designed to help you through those challenging moments.  If you would like more information on our support offerings, please check our CNY Fertility Calendar.  Also, here is the Holiday Support Guide Handout (under Private One-on-one Support).
We hope you are enjoying the holiday season, and creating wonderful new traditions!
