Video: Fertility Treatments-Making Small Lifestyle Changes During Your Cycle


Hi!  My name is Lisa Stack, and I’m the CNY Fertility Support Coordinator.  I wanted to upload a quick video, in addition to my Words of Support and Encouragement article this week, talking about changing your cycle a little bit.  So many of our clients often feel like they have been repeating the same cycle over and over again, especially if they had multiple, negative test results.  It’s normal to feel that way and get frustrated if you’ve been doing the same medications, the same procedures, and what not.
What I suggest you do is to add something different.  If you feel like you’ve been doing the same medications, you’ve been eating the same foods, you’ve been trying everything the same; to get a little control back and to give you something to really focus on and something to be really encouraged about, I suggest that you make a good promise to yourself that you’ll start right at the beginning of your cycle.  I want you to keep it easy as well – don’t shoot for the moon.  I don’t want you to say I’ll do yoga every day of the week and then if you start slacking on it a little bit, you’ll get disappointed and discouraged, so pick something attainable.  Maybe get to Yoga for Fertility once a week, or try a yoga practice at home on your own every Saturday or Sunday, once a week.  Maybe go for a brisk 15-minute walk outdoors, even during the winter, it feels fantastic once you get doing it 2-3 times a week.  Pledge to cook a really good home-cooked meal with good, natural, organic foods once per week with your partner.  These are all great changes that you can make on your own.  They can be very cheap; a lot of them don’t have to cost anything.
What you’re doing is supplementing your fertility and your overall health beyond what we’re doing in the office.  You’re taking some of that control back into your own hands.  Whenever you start to feel down or worried about I’m just doing the same cycle over and over again.  How is this going to be a positive outcome if we keep repeating this? You can rest assure and remember that you are doing something different.  This is a different cycle and you aren’t repeating everything.  I’d also like you to keep in mind that every cycle you use new eggs.  Every cycle you use new sperm.  Every cycle you have a new uterine lining, your hormones are starting out at different levels.  Even though it may feel like it’s just the same body; what we’re using in the integral parts, change and regenerate every single month.  So you really aren’t walking into the same cycle over and over again.  If you need some help coming up with some new ideas to change things up a little bit and to really support your cycle, shoot me an email and I have tons of ideas for you so you can get a good cycle plan started for you!  I will see you next week!
