Lisa: Good morning, Dr. Kiltz!
Dr. Rob: Good morning, Lisa. How are you today?
Lisa: I’m great. How are you?
Dr. Rob: Awesome. It is an awesome and amazing in the universe.
Lisa: Yes, it really is.
Dr. Rob: If we’re breathing, it’s a good day.
Dr. Rob: What are we talking about today?
Lisa: I’ve been getting a lot of calls and emails lately from clients discerning whether it’s time to move onto donor eggs and the success there. We do see a lot of great success stories and fertile friendships with IVF and IUI; but we’re starting to get a lot more with our donor eggs. A lot of people are coming out with support and help. So what are your thoughts on when to move onto that next stage and consider it?
Dr. Rob: Well, that is the challenge to know when it’s time. I would say there are so many options in family building in life. You always have to keep in mind adoption, donor eggs, surrogacy, gestation carrier, and IVF. There are just so many ways to do this, and you’ll know when it’s time. It’s always good to talk to someone about how you’re feeling about the process. It is all emotionally challenging. The beauty of the donor eggs is it offers a much higher chance of success. So if your odds are in the 5-10% or less, based on age or diminished ovarian reserve or if you’ve just done it, done it, done it and it’s just not happening; donor eggs may be the thing. It’s about a 50% delivery rate.
Lisa: It really is a great success history.
Dr. Rob: Often the challenge is “it’s not my genetics”. I always ask people, “Well, where did your genes come from?” In some way, we’re all related. If someone said, here’s a baby for you to adopt, you’d say, “Oh my gosh, yes, I’ll love it.” I’ve seen so many stories that when they became pregnant and delivered that baby with donor eggs, it’s an amazing, amazing bond. I’ve seen so many cases where that baby looks exactly like the non-genetic partner, whether donor sperm or donor eggs because we do bathe that child with our thoughts, our energy, and spirit—that DNA is brought out because of that.
Lisa: We get to see that wonderful ending. We get to see those beautiful babies coming in with the happy moms and parents. You never question for one second if they feel that connection—you really don’t. I think one of the greatest anecdotes that I have from clients is they love being able to feel the kicks. They get to feel the growth of the child, they get to have the delivery experience, and they get to nurse if they choose to. They really get to have all those experiences. There’s never a question that that child is theirs.
Dr. Rob: Absolutely. Often, we’re often asked the question, “How will we be treated? Will it feel like mine?” Those are just normal responses and normal thoughts in life. The experience and to know when—you’ll know when it’s time. That’s what it is. You have to talk about it at support group, fertile friends, and that is really critical. We always ask the whys in life. I don’t know whys of anything in life. We just know how to do and create; that’s what this is all really about. When you send love, that’s what really matters most is love.
Lisa: Well thank you. Definitely through your input I know we’ve been getting a lot of clients asking about it. I know that they’ll appreciate it. I know that we can always talk about donor eggs further. If it’s something that you’re interested in, you can always contact myself or our nurses. You can schedule a follow-up talk and speak with our donor team who are available at any time, you can always contact our donor team with any questions that you may have.
Dr. Rob: We have a new donor program coming up where you’ll be buying essentially eggs. We’re going to have fresh and frozen eggs to make it more affordable and easier to do the process.
Lisa: It’s really very exciting.
Dr. Rob: It’s opening up and changing a whole new way of doing things so we’re very excited about that.
Lisa: Let us know if you have any questions or concerns, and we’d love to walk you through the process and give you some more information. In the meantime, thank you very much. We’ll talk to you next week!
Dr. Rob: God Bless! Take care!
