Time to turn off the TV
Posted by: Editor on Jul 07, 2009 in News

summer-flowerIf you have ever attended a CNY Fertility Circle of Hope Support Group session with Dr. Rob Kiltz you know that he encourages us to turn off the TV and surround ourselves with positive, healthy media such as music and literature.  However, all too often when it comes to making time for ourselves to do activities such as reading or exercising we are simply too busy to fit it in.

While life does get incredibly busy with work and family, we truly need to make a conscious effort to spend some leisure time doing what we love.  According to a recent Nielson study, the average American watches 5 hours of TV a day.  5 hours!  Imagine if instead of spending time in front of the TV you went for a long walk outside, or spent time with family?  I guarantee 10 years from now you won’t be upset you missed that one episode or that hour of the news.  Instead you will be grateful for all the good times and laughs you had.

This is especially important if you are trying to conceive.  Sitting on the couch is not helping your body at all.  Why not take these summer months and work towards becoming the healthiest and best version of yourself yet!

Try it today, just turn off the set and get outside!
