Susan's Story:
At age 24 I went to my primary care doctor and told her how I was very fatigued and having issues with my body, such as irregular or no periods, and loss of hair to which she decided to send me to get an ultrasound and bloodwork. When the ultrasound came back, it showed that I had severe PCOS ( polycystic ovarian syndrome), and I had cysts all over my two ovaries, making them look like chocolate chip cookies. I was told by my doctor that if I wanted children one day, it could be difficult and that if I wanted the chance, being younger to try would be my best option.
Heartbroken by the news, I went to a fertility doctor for a second opinion, to which I received the same answer “ if you want a child this is the time to get things started”. Only I was 24, about to be 25, and single. So I had to make a choice, wait around for a possible Mr. Perfect and take the risk of it being too late, or do it on my own with a sperm donor.
Having wanted to be a mother since I can remember, walking around with baby dolls, and obsessing over my nieces and nephews, I knew that being a mother was something that I needed to be in life and would not give up, so I chose the ladder.
So I was on my fertility journey, where I had multiple tests done, had to chose a donor and had to be put on medication after medication to see what would help me. Finally I decided on IUI’s. I did a total of 5 IUI’s, 4 that did not work and 1 that resulted in a chemical pregnancy . Totally heartbroken, and financially tight I decided to wait a year before trying again.
After taking the break, I knew I had to do IVF, but I needed some place affordable as I was a middle-class single woman and that is when I found out about CNY. I was amazed at the prices that made someone who wanted to become a mother not have to go through thousands of dollars in debt to do so.
After my consultation with Dr. Kiltz, I did mini IVF due to my age and my PCOS diagnosis. I was able to retrieve 13 eggs, 8 of them maturing, and were able to be frozen on days 5 and 6.
I did my FET the very next month and was pregnant. I couldn’t believe it and was so happy that my dream of being a mother was finally happening.
I had my daughter DemiRose (Rosie) on 3/10/21. I am a single mother by choice to my beautiful daughter Rosie, and I could not be more grateful, happy, and in love with her!
Without the help from CNY, she would not be here, and I could not be more grateful!

Unique Moments:
I had done a MATERNITY 21 test at CNY and found out I was having a girl, which shocked me as I have six older brothers and was sure I would have a boy.
