Michelle & Oscar's Story:

My husband and I got married in October of 2012 and knew right away we wanted to start a family. We tried on our own and then sought fertility treatment. With a history of PCOS and several surgeries to remove pelvic adhesions and ovarian cysts, I knew we were going to need help. After doing the same protocol with our other clinic for 2-3 years on and off, we took a break. That’s when I found CNY Fertility. The Buffalo office was just getting started and I thought it would be great to get a second opinion. And I’m so glad we did! That’s when I met Kris and immediately knew this was the place for us. She was so informative and I was shocked at all the stuff we could to try. Because of my low AMH and only having one ovary, we decided to do a donor egg cycle.
Unfortunately, that cycle didn’t take. But we weren’t going to give up. We looked into the donor embryo program and decided to try this. I was excited and nervous at the same time. Finally, we were sent the perfect match and we took a leap. After some trials and tribulations, we decided in the summer of 2018 it was time. We transferred in August of 2018. We only transferred 1 embryo of our batch. Dr Kiltz did our transfer and he was AMAZING!! I was nervous because during my testing prior to transfer and we discovered my cervix was curved which could make my transfer difficult. I told him my fears, he took my hand, looked me in the eyes with such love and said “Don’t worry, we will get it in there.” And he did!!! The 2 week wait was so hard. But, I got the call I’d been waiting for..... Your pregnant!! I was so excited but was cautious because I knew what could happen and my HCG was only 27. So, I waited for my next HCG and it increased like it was suppose to but I was still so scared!! We went for our first US and I was told to be “cautiously optimistic” and to see what my next HCG level was. I was devastated to say the least. But, I got the phone call that my HCG level rose considerably and we will repeat the HCG and US the following week. That week was TORTURE!!
I went to my appointment with my mom because my husband was working and I didn’t want to be alone because I was sure it was going to be bad news. So, Kris came in and we did the US and there it was.... a BABY!!! I was so shocked!! And then there was a HEARTBEAT!!! And I’ll never forget that sound. And then there were 2 other sacs which was why my HCG was so high. But they were both empty but it was ok. There was A BABY and that’s all I wanted.
Fast forward to April 24, 2019 my dream finally became true. I was a mom to a beautiful baby girl!!
I’m so grateful to the embryo donors who gave us this precious gift. I’m so grateful for CNY Fertility, Dr. Kiltz, Kris, and the awesome nurses that took care of us. We are excited to try for baby #2 this summer to complete our little family.
