Our miracle baby

I was a patient at CNY Fertility in 2008 and 2009. I conceived in June 2008 through injections. But sadly lost my baby girl Ella in November, just 21 weeks along due to an incompetent cervix. We didn't give up and started back with the injections in May 2009 and we were so surprised to find out that we had conceived our first month of trying. I was having a very healthy pregnancy and because of my complications from my first pregnancy I was seeing a specialist from Albany Medical Center. I was having ultrasounds every week and injections to help my cervix from opening or shortening. I was put on bed rest at 23 weeks, but at 24 weeks my cervix started to shorten and I was sent to Albany Medical Center from Glens Falls Hospital. At 24 week and 4 days Mr. Oliver Kuriplach was born at 1lb 11.5 ounces and 12.8 in long. They told us the odds of his survival and that this was going to be a rocky road in the NICU. From day one Oliver was a fighter and gave the Doctor and Nurses a run for their money. He started taking my breast milk through his feeding tube and week by week he started gaining weight. He did get sick in January from NEC. It has to due with his digestive system and intestines. He had a very mild case and was back to normal in about a week or two. Oliver came home February 5th 2010, he was just about 3 month old and weighed just over 5 pounds. the first two weeks he was home was the hardest and scariest for my husband and I. He came home on oxygen and an apnea monitor. He was having many apnea moments and spent a few more days in the hospital here in Glens Falls. He has now been home for four months and is doing great! He weights about 14 pounds and is starting to roll over and become very vocal! He is our little miracle! Sarah
