If you’re reading this page, it is likely that you have been on a long and arduous journey. A story that has been filled with sadness and despair at many times during recent years. Know however, that everyone at CNY is here for you and we will do everything in our power to make your experience with us and your dream of becoming a parent a reality.
For those of you who may be stumbling across this page and wondering what becoming a donor embryo recipient even means, let us break it down for you. The concept of the Embryo Donation Program is to match the remaining embryos to recipient parents who are interested in the concept of adoption but would also like to carry the child and establish a special bond over the nine-month gestational period.
Often when families undergo IVF treatments, they are left with remaining fertilized eggs (embryos). Becoming the recipient of a donor embryo means that you will be transferring an embryo from someone (likely someone with remaining embryos after an IVF cycle) who is not biologically related to either parent.
Often times, those who choose to become a donor embryo recipient have already tried every fertility treatment option available including IUI, IVF, Donor eggs, Donor sperm, and quite frequently a whole host of traditional or eastern approaches to infertility. Know that whatever your reason is for pursuing our donor embryo program that at CNY we support everyone’s path to parenthood no matter what road you travel.
At CNY, we offer two modes of embryo donation.
- Anonymous Donor: The embryos through this path are donated to CNY Fertility and the biological parents’ identity will remain anonymous. CNY Fertility will then offer those donor embryos to families looking to do a cycle with donor embryos. Medical backgrounds of each biological parent are available for the recipient couple. This allows the recipient couple to choose the embryos they feel would be most suitable for the family they wish to create.
- Known Embryo Donor: For those looking for a more personal connection between their recipient or donor, we also run a private facebook group “Donor Embryo Program and Family Finder,” that enables donors and recipients to post their story and find families who they would like to match with. No family that donates their embryos to CNY directly through our anonymous program will be identified.
