It goes without saying that going through infertility can be a stressful time in one’s life. The emotions that arise are very real and can be difficult to navigate. At CNY, we understand that caring for your emotional well-being is as important as treating your infertility, and we understand that each couple’s experience and needs are different. CNY Fertility provides the support you need to help you and your partner through all stages of your fertility journey. Whether you’re more comfortable in a group setting, one-on-one or as an observer, CNY Fertility has the support you need to reduce the stress associated with infertility from a medical, emotional, and financial perspective. Please view our calendar for support events here.
The Circle of Hope:
The Circle of Hope Support Group meets on the second Tuesday of each month at 5:30 pm at our Syracuse and Albany locations. The group is moderated by one of our team members and is open to all clients. During the group session, clients are invited to share their personal experiences, seek support, and gain helpful tools for coping with the emotional ups and downs of infertility. Guest speakers will also occasionally join the group to share knowledge and their own personal journey.
Workshops, Yoga, and More:
In addition to our Circle of Hope Support Group and regular Facebook Live sessions, each CNY Healing Arts location offers a variety of events and workshops each month. Workshop topics range from nutrition to the grief process. We also provide weekly Yoga for Fertility (free!) and meditation opportunities. For workshop meeting times and locations, please visit our CNY Fertility Calendar https://www.cnyfertility.com/calendar/
Public Facebook and Instagram Communities:
Our main Facebook and Instagram page offers clients, those just beginning to look into fertility care, as well as those who have already sought treatment a place to connect with others, share information, and learn. These pages are also a great place to learn about recent and upcoming events CNY like our annual Zoo Party and IVF Giveaways.
Weekly Circle of Hope Facebook Live:
We recognize that some of our clients are unable to make it to in-office support meetings. Luckily, we are able to regularly offer Facebook Live support sessions. This allows clients to listen in and ask questions from the comfort of their own homes. These sessions occur on our Secret Facebook Support Group, The Official CNY Fertility Support Group. To join the Facebook Support Group, please email Lisa, and she is happy to help you: Lstack@cnyfertility.com
Private Facebook Support Groups:
We recognize the need for community and support. We’ve created four Facebook support groups set to the “secret” setting. This means that you are free to share, support, and feel heard as you need to. These groups will not appear in searches, and will not appear anywhere on your profile or newsfeed for friends, family, and coworkers to see. The groups that we currently have are:
- Official CNY Fertility Support Group: All fertility topics welcome!
- Official CNYFC Pregnancy & Beyond: All pregnancy, baby, and kid discussions.
- Official Life after TTC: Navigating the world after trying to conceive if you have not been successful, or have had to stop trying for any reason. Please be mindful that this group is not for those who are actively cycling or any pregnancy discussion.
- Official Men’s Group CNYFC: A support space for our male clients.
- Official CNY Fertility Donor Embryo Program and Family Finder: Open for clients that are interested in donating embryos or being the recipient of donor embryos with the hope that families with remaining embryos after successfully completing their families can for the friendship often necessary to make such a personal and meaningful gift.
Fertile Friend Friday:
Each Friday, we make a social media post on our Instagram and Facebook page calling anyone looking for a “Fertility Friend,” to comment on the post. Commenting notifies our community that you are open to being messaged both privately and publicly from someone else in our community currently seeking treatment or has already completed their Fertile Journey and would like to offer their support, knowledge, and guidance to a new member of the community.
Private One-on-One support with Lisa:
If you are looking for a more private one-on-one support situation, Lisa Stack is a CNY Fertility Center Staff member who has been through the fertility journey experience herself. She offers her services as a lay support person and can be contacted by email at firstname.lastname@example.org or by phone at 315-744-8073.
Lisa put together a helpful Holiday Support Guide to give you the opportunity to make time to reflect during times of grief and work through challenging situations that can become ever present during the holiday season, especially for those on the fertility journey.
If you have recently suffered a miscarriage or you are finding that your fertility journey is becoming emotionally overwhelming, please visit Lisa’s guide to Understanding the Grief Process. Additionally, if you would like a few ideas for honoring and remembering your loss, we have gathered a few thoughts for you here, at Honoring A Miscarriage.
