Good morning! We hope that you enjoyed the beautiful weather this weekend. Getting outside for a little bit every day is a fantastic way to get your body moving, and change your perspective on a situation. Especially now that the weather is nice, take this as an opportunity to incorporate a new coping tool into your day.
The burdens of your fertility journey are great challenges that you face every single day. Grief, worry, stress, anger, sadness, and resentment may all work their way into the forefront of your mind throughout the day. If you are at work or involved in some activity that may be challenging to get away from at the moment, it may also be challenging to take a step back and move away from those negative emotions. If it is possible, this is the perfect time to take a deep breath outside, or at least in a different environment from where you currently are. Even if you don’t immediately feel relief from the emotional burden, taking a step back and changing your physical location will provide your mind with an opportunity to gain a different perspective. The challenges that you are coping with will not immediately disappear, but after a 5 minute walk during your lunch break, you may feel like you can get back to the task in front of you while acknowledging your negative emotions and your need to work through them.
Taking a step back for a fresh perspective may also open you up to new ways of moving forward or coping with your great burdens. When your mind is stuck in a negative thought cycle, it can be challenging to open up to new ideas. However, giving yourself that new environment and new perspective is inviting a new world of ideas and coping tools.
