Coping with the Two Week Wait
Posted by: Editor on Mar 09, 2012 in News

The time before your pregnancy test can be challenging for some women.  This can be an emotionally and physically sensitive time.  Many women have a heightened awareness of each and every sensation, further adding weight to the great question, “Could I be pregnant?”  Additionally, this is a period when many women want to adhere to the traditional rules of pregnancy, without necessarily admitting to themselves that they could be pregnant – so they don’t “jinx” themselves.  It is very common to feel this way, and it is OK to want to protect yourself from too much ‘pregnancy’ thinking.  That being said, if you are finding that you have many questions during the two week wait about what is safe and what isn’t, please always ask.

Feeling safe and secure during your cycle is important, and we are always here to answer your questions.  Anything ranging from safe foods to your exercise practices can suddenly come into question when there is a chance that you are pregnant.  If you would feel more comfortable with a text, I also recommend Dr. Robert Greene’s Perfect Hormone Balance for Pregnancy:  A Groundbreaking Plan for Having a Healthy Baby and Feeling Great.  While you may not be emotionally ready to buy pregnancy books and products, this is a great resource for all of those questions that arise during the ‘what if’ period.  I found great comfort in this book while trying to conceive, and I was able to relax knowing that someone else had taken the time to research and answer all of those challenging questions.

Take the time to ask questions and educate yourself on the most recent pregnancy recommendations.  I think you may find that your two week wait can be a lot more relaxed without all of the additional unanswered questions.
