Good morning! I hope that you had a nice and relaxing weekend. While you are trying to conceive and as you are expecting, you may suddenly find that you have become an open venue for unsolicited advice. “Just try to relax, and it will happen” “Have you tried cutting out all white foods?” “You have to cut out all caffeine, wine, and chocolate – then it will happen”. As may friends and family members offer their suggestions with the best of intentions, remember that you are different. Your body is different, your child will be different, and you will be a different mother. Some advice will actually help and support your efforts to conceive, but some may be out-dated, inaccurate, and just plain incorrect for your personal lifestyle! Whenever anyone makes a suggestion, remember that you can always bounce ideas off of our wonderful nurses and practitioners. You don’t have to take all of this information in, and try to sort out what is going to help – and what isn’t. Also, don’t ever feel bad about your decisions. This is your body, your cycle, and your child. These are your decisions to make, to support your fertility.
