Hi! My name is Lisa Stack and I’m the CNY Fertility Support Coordinator. In addition to my Words of Support and Encouragement article this week, I wanted to upload a quick video talking about eating fresh and eating locally. We always talk about diet and exercise, and getting outdoors as integral parts of trying to conceive. They really are so important. We want to focus on nurturing the entire body, the entire self, and your whole wellness on this journey. As much as we focus on your uterine lining and your ovaries, and maybe the sperm count, there is an entire body at play here. Especially if you are a female patient, we are creating an entire healthy vessel for this beautiful, healthy child that you’re working to conceive. So we want to make sure that we have the best foundation for this pregnancy.
I encourage you to get outside, get to your farmer’s market, sign up with the CSA (the Community-Supported Agriculture), get outside to ‘You-Pick’ locations, and get those fresh berries, get any fresh fruits or vegetables that you can from your garden. Utilize your grill, utilize fresh-summer salads, fresh-squeezed juice and iced tea to try and get as many clean, healthy, and pure foods in your body as possible. This gives your body a nice time to relax, gives it a break from maybe processing, maybe challenging chemicals that come with processed foods, and just makes you feel a lot more energized, healthy, and clean. It’s a good thing to try, especially since it’s the summer and we’re outdoors, and we’re enjoying the sun more. We’re getting some more exercise outside with fun activities. It’s a good time to really focus on your overall health and wellness with the intention of improving your ability to conceive and carry a child.
