At the age of 17 I was diagnosed with PCOS. Due to this reason my husband and I decided in our early twenties to stop using birth control, but not actively try to conceive. After several years I had not become pregnant and we decided to start actively trying to conceive. Even though I wasn’t menstruating with any regularity, I was still in denial and believed that if I actively tried it would happen. For the next 1.5 years I tracked my cycles on Fertility Friend, checked my fertility signs, used OPKs, etc. and still did not become pregnant. Finally we decided it was time to seek help and my OB referred us to CNY Fertility. They were absolutely wonderful and I felt extremely confident after our initial consult. We went through some testing and then began our first Clomid/IUI cycle. Unfortunately, during that our first cycle my Mother passed away and after finding out we weren’t pregnant we decided to take a break. A little over a year later we returned with renewed confidence and began treatment again. After 2 more failed Clomid/IUI cycles we decided to move on to injectibles. By that point we were starting to feel discouraged and my husband and I worried that parenthood might not be in the cards for us. However, we decided to proceed with that cycle before taking another break. On July 2, 2012 we were elated to find out that we were expecting as a result of that first injectible cycle!! I had an absolutely wonderful pregnancy and on March 8, 2013 we welcomed our beautiful baby girl, Eva Opal, into the world. She has quickly proven to be the most wonderful and amazing gift we have ever received. We will forever be grateful to CNY for helping us achieve our little blessing!
